Hi all!
Shortly after we moved into the Inn, we were contacted by someone
who wanted to come by to see our rooms to see if they were large enough
to house 8 families of 4 each family. We were told that the families
were Civil War reenactors and they were having an event the weekend
of July 7th. I said of course and if you're interested we can work
out the rates, etc. (Of course when I told Kevin about it he was highly
suspicious and I had to convince him it was legit ):
Within a week they came and took pictures of the rooms and said they
would be back to us shortly with a decision as to whether or not the
space would work. They called back and said, yes, the Inn would be
perfect and they would be by to discuss the particulars. Welllllllllllllll......
They came and told us the familes were part of CBS's The
Amazing Race and told us we had to sign a disclaimer saying we
would keep our mouths shut.
The weekend came at last; the families came, along with the producers
and other staff. We washed their clothes, we baked them cookies, we
served them breakfast, Kevin played chess with one of the kids (and
they had a little spat cuz neither of them would admit defeat - imagine
that) and we watched them leave, family by family. It was an exciting
weekend. The beginning of the episode will be aired tomorrow night.
I don't know if the Inn will be featured but just in case, tune in.
We will be anxious to see who wins!
